Katherine and William came to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in 1968 from New Jersey when they accepted Artist in Residence positions at Penland School of Crafts. By the mid 1980’s both artists had established themselves as major forces in the glass world. Their collaboration on a line of goblets and tableware has Katie supplying the imagery with melted glass colored rods and Billy forming the result into a vessel. These pieces received wide recognition in design journals and magazines and are a staple of their production today.

Currently, both artists produce individual pieces for gallery shows and collaborate with two assistants on the functional work.
